Tires for Sale

I have a pair of tires for sale. These were mounted by the previous owner of the bike and used as rollers. They have only been ridden on once and show absolutely no wear(see pictures). Here they are:

The Front
SHINKO 712F 100-90-18

The Rear
SHINKO 712R 120-90-18

I am asking $40 for the front and $50 for the rear or $80 for the pair. I can ship anywhere. The price does not include shipping. Wheels are not included.

Pipes!

I have been working on the pipes for the bike. I made a few sets but I think I nailed it with this last set. They still need to be hit with the file and sanding block.

Old Memories

This was the last bike I built. It was always a blast to ride for such a small bike and never left you stranded. We called her Suzie da Uki. She was a 1978 Suzuki GS400.

"Livin' the Dream"

The last few days my wife and I have experienced a couple of long days of work. So we thought we would reward ourselves with a little In-N-Out. Why not? We deserved it right? Anyways, on our way we came across one of my favorite songs, "The Streets of Bakersfield" by Dwight Yoakam and Buck Owens. So as we are sitting low in our Corolla, with the windows down, and bumping our tunes with Dwight and Buck while it is 80 degrees at 8:30 on our way to In-N-Out, while sharing it all with my best friend, I find myself saying to myself, "now this is the life." It doesn't get any better than that. As a good friend of mine says, "livin' the dream."

Progress Report

Its has been a little while since an update so I figure it is about time. First off I metal finished the rear fender. It was beaten pretty bad after 75 years. I then proceeded and made it so the bead that runs down the middle of the fender tapers off just before the rear of the fender.

Here is what it looked like before, where the beads run down to the end of the fender.
I then shaped the rear of the fender.
I then continued the lip that runs down each side across the end the fender. I did this to make it look factory and for a little more strength. Still needs to be cleaned up a little bit.

Next up was the oil bag. I had come to the conclusion that I wanted to run a horseshoe oil bag. But after a few guys on Craigs List flaking out on me and guys just wanting too much for what they had I figured "why not make my own?" Knowing I was going to have to cut up whatever I got to make it fit right anyways I decided to make one from scratch.
First off I made a little template out of wood to figure out my shape and figuring out where the down tube would go.

Here is what I came up with. You can see the notches for the down tube so it will sit nice and tight. It will also hold the battery.

I was able to use all the fittings from a Sportster oil bag I had. Man, I am cheap!

Here it is on the bike. As you can tell from the porta power I still need to work on the mounts. Notice the chain clearance.

Next up exhaust and finishing the down tube.

East Bound and Down

Well, for those of you who don't know down here in Yuma we have three types of radio stations; Country, Western, and Mariachi. When I am not listening to the Mariachi stations I usually find myself listening to the Western station. Well this morning at a little after five as I am working they played some Mr. Jerry Reed. My poor neighbors. I am sure if the die grinder didn't wake them a little Jerry Reed being cranked at 5am did.
